Edinburgh International Harp Festival

This concert will include the Edinburgh première of Seavaigers, a concerto for fiddle, Scottish harp and string orchestra by Sally Beamish, whose recent work has increasingly engaged with Scottish traditions. A joint commission between Celtic Connections and Edinburgh International Harp Festival, backed by Creative Scotland, and featuring Shetland and Dundee-born soloists Chris Stout and Catriona McKay, it reflects, Beamish says, “the anticipation, fear, comradeship and adventure of sea voyaging.”
